(March 12, 2010) – The first night of the AMA Arenacross Series’ round
from Council Bluffs, Iowa’s Mid America Center produced a familiar
winner in the AMA Arenacross class as Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki’s
Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., won his ninth race of the 2010 season.
Reynard Mod’s Kawasaki’s Cory Green, of Nowata, Okla., grabbed the AMA
Arenacross Lites victory to inch closer to the top of the Western
Regional Championship standings.
Bowers was
untouchable on Friday night, grabbing the premier class holeshot and
leading all 25-laps of the main event. As the series’ winningest rider
dominated the field, the battle for the rest of the podium waged on.
Overcoming a rough start, Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki’s Chad
Johnson, of Rhinelander, Wis., grabbed the runner-up spot while
reigning series champion Jeff Gibson, of Thornville, Ohio, rounded out
the podium in third.
